Coyote Lake, CA Star Party, June 2008

June 7, 2008 provided an opportunity to get out of the city to a darker sky location than my deck in Alameda. We had a crescent moon until about 11:45pm so it wasn't perfect viewing. With that said we had good views of Saturn. Mars was ok. Around midnight Jupiter gave us a look, but it was pretty low on the horizon.

I was able to find the whirlpool galaxy with an ok look before leaving about 12:30am. The winner for me on this truly first light night was M13 in Hercules.
