Hiller Aviation Museum, Santa Clara CA, Feb 2008
The Hiller Museum commemorates aviation history of the San Francisco area and specifically Stanley Hiller Jr. In 1940 Stanley Hiller created motorized model race cars. These cars were produces in his father's garage and machine shop in the Oakland hills, south of the Claremont Hotel.
When World War II began, defense contracts were award to the company that was formed to produce the "Comet" race car. Stanley Jr later sold that company to focus on helicopter design and started Hiller Helicopters.
